Aaron Balcom, the “Rock & Roll Illusionist”, who began his career right here, downriver, is returning with his critically-acclaimed show, for one night only!
Besides being one of the headlining performers in “Michael Lives! The Michael Jackson Tribute Concert”, last August, Aaron has not been back to the Detroit area since 2003.
The show, titled “Rock & Roll Meets Grand Illusion!” is the type of event audiences rarely get to see outside of Las Vegas. It boasts nearly a dozen grand scale, larger than life illusions, including Aaron’s signature Skyscraper, Body Piercing and Moon Telekinesis illusion. The last one being the grand finale and measuring an impressive twenty feet long on stage!
Audiences will also get treated to the classics, such as Aaron sawing his beautiful female assistant into three or four sections, or causing her to vanish while levitating in mid air!
There is also plenty of comedy, audience interaction and mind reading, including one segment where Aaron will actually read the minds of the entire audience! A time traveling segment will take the audience back to the fabulous 1950’s and of course, Aaron’s signature act with nothing more than two hands and a deck of cards will be featured. This act has drawn critical acclaim from magic legends such as Lance Burton and Andre Kole and has won numerous performance awards.
This modern production features a contemporary rock & pop soundtrack, dancing and special effects. It also packs plenty of production value, with a computerized light show, scenery and a digital, LED backdrop - making this much more than just a magic show!
Locally, Aaron Balcom has appeared on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and WB television networks, plus The Detroit News, The News Herald, Real Detroit, Metro Times and other outlets.
The show will take place on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 7:00PM (doors open an hour early) at the Allen Park Auditorium at 16850 Southfield Road, in Allen Park. Tickets will officially go on sale on 1/31/10, however, advance ticket reservations are currently being taken and are filling up fast!
Tickets range from $8.00-$15.00 for individual seats and there is also a discounted family package available. VIP tickets are available, with reserved, up front seating.
