I love going to frankenmuth. It's a fun place. My favorite part is the friend chicken. There are two restaurants: Zehnder's and Bavarian Inn. You may think, wow what though competition but they are actually owned by the same family. When you order the all-you-can eat platter, you will not be allowed to take any home.
I also like going to Bronner's. It's billed as the World's Largest Christmas Store. They are open close to 365 days a year. They have the most ornaments and christmas trees around. They always have something new so why not check it out. Did you know? Bronners has billboard ads as far away as Florida on I-75.
Another part of going up north is the outlet malls. It's called Prime Outlets at Birch Run. It's the largest outlet mall in the Midwest. They have some popular stores and also some hard to find ones. The stores offer a discount that you won't get at the mall.
To get to Frankenmuth & Birch Run: Take 1-96 West to US-23 North to I-75 North. Follow the signs and get off at the Frankenmuth exit.

I love Frankenmuth. Their chicken is superb. There is also lots to do up there, like the outlet mall, Bronners, the Brewery, the showboat ride down the river and the horse carriage. It is a good day trip or overnighter.

I was just in Frankenmuth on Friday October 6, 2005. My husband & I spent over 3 hours in Bronner's Christmas Store.
I couldn't help noticing how Frankenmuth has remained the same wonderful attraction year after year, since I was a child! (many, many years ago...) I also thought to myself, it's such a pleasure to enter the little world that is Frankenmuth...unchanged by the outside world. I revelled in my heart upon seeing that the Village of Frankenmuth was still the same from the memories of my childhood...& not a BIG BOX STORE in sight! Thinking aloud..."Thank God walmart can't take over this gem." As we were leaving the Village, I remarked to my hubby, "Now, this is what a village is all about & if you noticed...it doesn't need a walmart supercenter!" After returning home to Livonia later that night, I took some time to check out the latest info on the web concerning Wonderland Village & where else in Michigan walmart is trying to take over.......
Lo and behold...I found that walmart has decided to move into Frankenmuth!!!
WHAT? WHY? WHERE? &
How can the need for a walmart in the Village of Frankenmuth, Michigan be justified?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oops...OK...I've got it now...
If someone is EARNING EVEN ONE DOLLAR/EURO/YEN/RUPE; etc. anywhere in this world... it seems...
~WALMART BELIEVES THEY ARE ENTITLED~
TO MOVE IN TO TRY TO TAKE THAT $ TO SEND IT BACK TO BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS!!!!!!!
And so now they want the dollars generated in the Village of Frankenmuth, Michigan. We have enjoyed this historical village for many years... & our time is up... now we must surrender... it seems... ~WALMART IS ENTITLED TO TAKE OVER THE VILLAGE OF FRANKENMUTH!!!~ but, we will all have wonderful memories of our visits in the past years...bw (before walmart)!
As I finish typing this message, my eyes are welling with tears...because I am watching every day as pieces of our very core history in this country & my home state of Michigan are hi-jacked because...it seems...
WALMART THINKS BELIEVES THEY ARE... ~ENTITLED TO EVERY DOLLAR SPENT...EVERYWHERE!!!~
...in case you weren't aware... With their most recent FDIC application to become a bank...it seems...
WALMART BELIEVES THEY ARE ~ENTITLED TO HANDLE EVERY DOLLAR EVERYWHERE!!!~
My venting is done & I thank you for this opportunity to share my recent visit to the Village of Frankenmuth with you. My heart will hold the love for what once was... & my mind will hold the memories of all lost, aw!!!
